Sequoria “Quorie” Powell Moses was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 14, 1984 to the late Georgette Byrd & Joseph Powell and departed this life November 10, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Sequoria accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Lattisville Grove Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills, NC.

Sequoria’s mother moved her family to North Carolina in 1999 and Sequoria spent the remainder of her childhood and most of adult life in Roxboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Person High School in Roxboro, NC in 2002. Shortly thereafter she graduated from cosmetology school in Durham, NC. In February of 2007, she and Cedric Moses were wed in holy matrimony. After living in North Carolina for 19 years, in September 2018, she moved back “Home” to Toledo, Ohio to be with family.

Sequoria always kept a smile on her face. She was a fun, outgoing and loving person. She was vibrant, outspoken, and had a vivid imagination. She had a special way of bringing people close to her. Her voice was like no other, she carried a very sweet, yet loud distinctive tone. Sequoria had a heart of gold and would do what she could for anyone. Her children were her most prized possession. She loved her children and everything about motherhood. Her four children were her life! Along with being a mother, Sequoria had other various talents, she loved to cook and most importantly loved do hair. She had her own style and had a way of standing out with her fashion and her fashionably colored hairstyles.

In addition to her parents, Sequoria was proceeded in death by her, grandmother, Mellie Byrd, grandfather, Willie Byrd, Aunts; Lynette Perrin, Myrna Huff & Vanessa Byrd-Tucker.

She now leaves to cherish her very fashionably, wonderful and noble spirit, her husband, Cedric Moses; her beloved children, Trinity Burton, Haden Moses, HaeLynn Moses, Jaxon Moses; Step children, Dyani Moses & Eliza Moses; Loving Sister, Nekia(Rennis) Armstrong; Brother ,Carlin Powell; Loving Stepsister, Takeyla Addie-Brown; Niece, Nyla Street; Nephew, Rennis Street III;The Powell Family; Special Aunts, Willie Ann Byrd & Beverly Byrd; Best Friend, Teresita Jones; God Son, Andrew Woods and a Host of Loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family & Friends.

Letter to my big sis: Although Joe(Dad) was not my biological father, he raised me as his own child. If he was here today? He'd always tell people he had five children. Starting from the eldest to youngest(Sequoria, Ashley, Keith, Jamar, & Eric Jr.) Quorie, I remember when we first met face to face. We just embraced each other like we'd known each other all our lives. I appreciate the summers we'd spent together. I will forever remember them. Although she's not here physically, but I thank your mother for trusting us enough to know that we'd take care of you. I'm forever grateful for that. It's still so hard for me to believe that you're gone, but I know to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. I just believe a loved one greeted you at the pearly gates. I can here God telling you "Well Done, You can come on in." Even though it's hard. I know I have to let you go so I can have peace. You'll forever be in my heart. So now I have three siblings as guardian angels. Quorie/Cocoa I miss you so much big sis and I'll always love you. R.I.P. another angel just gained her wings
