Obituary for Lois Austin

At 83, Lois C. Austin, strong, beautiful and courageous, passed away January 9, 2013, at University of Toledo Medical Center. Lois was born June 3, 1929, to Belton and Mayme (Swayne) Austin in Toledo, OH. After spending a portion of her young life in the south, she returned to Toledo and attended Scott High School. She retired from Libbey Glass as a selector. Sewing, knitting, and crocheting were hobbies, but discovering different uses of the computer came to be the most fun. Passion for knowledge, a quick wit, and love were her lifelong traits. She leaves in memory one daughter, Merita Riley; one sister, Gloria Durham of South Caolina, and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Belton Austin Jr. and James Swayne. Funeral Services are Friday January 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at The House of Day Funeral Services preceded by 10:00 a.m. wake. Please sign register book at
