Edward  Coleman
Edward Coleman, a beloved servant of God, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2016. Edward was born January 14, 1937, to Alfred and Hattie Mae Coleman in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Having attended Libbey High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving for three years. He was employed at Chevloret (General Motors) before serving three years as a Toledo Police Officer, returning to General Motors Hydramatic Division, as a safety engineer, retiring after 30 years of service. A longtime member and deacon of Church of the New Covenant, Edward was also a member of the Mountain Top Great Banquet Community.
Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Peggy Jane; daughter, Katrina J.; son, Edward B. Sr. (Tammie); grandsons, Edward B. Jr., and Jarrod Jefferson; sisters, Mamie L. Hart (Johnny) and Cora L. Hammond; mother-in-law, Aleathia M. Carson; sisters-in-law, Joan E. Goldman, Marilyn Carson-Wilson, Dr. Janice Carson-Hearn (Samuel); brothers-in-law, Arthur Carson Jr. and David A. Carson (Karen); and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, August 29, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Church of the New Covenant, 3864 Jackman Road, Toledo, Ohio 43612. Interment at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Pastor Benjamin Green, Eulogist.
