June Elizabeth Jackson, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed from this life, July 8, 2016, at home. She was born in Zhanesville, Ohio, to the union of Blache Duling Walker and Gurvis Graves, on June 6, 1926.

In 1946, she and her family migrated from her hometown to Toledo, Ohio, where at the the tender age of 18, she began her brief career as a singer and dancer and performed in various local Toledo Area Clubs. a career that she soon gave up to raise her children.

During the 1960's, she worked at the H & H Cutrate Drug Store on Division and Avondale Avenue, and was known by all the neighborhood kids as, "the lady behind the candy counter". She was the Head Cook for the extended Stay Unit at the Miami Children's Home, where she worked for 25 years and retired in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, 2 sisters, Juanita (Willie) Ellis and Rose (Charles) Parcher, and husband, Robert Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Peggy Jackson; sons, Douglas Graves, Charles D. (Ella), Roger L., and Eric J. Jackson, all of Toledo; sister, Dorothy Fulton, 15 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A special thank you to Davita and Fresenius Dialysis Facilities, for all of the care shown by their staff and the team of relatives that cared for her during her illness. Omega K., Roger L., Jones A., and Hubert Jackson, Jr and special friend Lymon Wilson, and others not mentioned.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, at the House of Day Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at 3:30pm, preceded by a Wake service at 2:30pm, at United Community Church, 1301 Broadway St., Toledo, Ohio.
