Bobbie Charles Knight, "Charles" or "The General" passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Charles was born on September 29, 1946 unto Charles Bond and Beatrice Knight in Bogalusa, LA.

Charles attended Central Memorial High School then enlisted in the US Army. His first tour of duty was in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, he served two tours in Vietnam. Charles earned the Purple Heart for his service as an 82nd Airborne Ranger then he serviced in the US Air Force.

After his service, Charles converted to Islam in 1969, he moved back to Bogalusa then moved to New Orleans to attend college. While attending Delgado College, he met the love of his life, Rashida Glenda Howard. They married November 14, 1970 and in their union they had three children; Khalid, Khalidah and Jamal. They moved to Ohio in 1989. He worked at UPS and was affectionately known as Bobbie or The General for 15 years as a Feeder Driver until his retirement in 2014.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Khalidah; father, Charles Freeman Bond; mother, Beatrice Knight. He is survived by his wife, Rashida Glenda; his sons, Khalid (Mahnaz) and Jamal; his brother, Jimmie Knight and brother-in-laws, Oscar, Chris and Wendell Howard; Special Cousin, Kimberly Williams; Special friends, Brenda Kadisha Hobbs, Gwenolyn Wilson and Anton and Tanyika Williams. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
