The Obituary of Willie Mae Bailey

January 15, 1926 to December 12, 2020


Willie Mae Bailey (Granny) was born on January 15th to Millie Ann Webb and John E. Smith in Grenada, Mississippi.

At the age of 3 years old, Willie and her mother were involved in a near fatal car accident. The physical shock and trauma of the accident caused Willie to experience a stroke. As a result, she lived with weakness in her left arm and a paralyzed right leg. She was unable to walk to and from school due to her leg being paralyzed; as a result, her formal education ceased at third grade.

Despite her condition, Willie worked as a caregiver and housekeeper until she was no longer able to do so. On June 6th 1944, Willie Mae give birth to her only child, Margaret Coleman.

Willie was led to the Lord by her best friend, Mrs. Irene Lee. From that moment on, she was committed to serving the Lord and others. Until her passing, she was a respected mother of Trinity Faith Tabernacle Deliverance Center in Toledo, OH.

Willie had a deep love for children, crafts, and sarcasm. Surrounded by loved ones, Willie received her heavenly reward on December 12, 2020 as a result of COVID-19. Willie was full of life and will be remembered for her playful pinches, big smile, and perfectly timed jokes.

Willie was preceded in death by her parents: Millie Ann Webb and John E. Smith; sister, Earma Bowman, daughter, Margaret Taylor; grandsons; Houston Taylor and Kevin Renfroe; great-grandson, Koley Taylor; and Great-Great grandson, JaShawn Dameron. Left to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren; Sharion Turner, Micheal Taylor, Cynthia Taylor, and Keith Renfroe; 30 Great Grandchildren; 43 Great-great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great-Great grandchildren; best friend, Irene Lee, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends and family members.
