Will Albert Williams, 83, was born on December 8, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio, and passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was the 4th child of the late Freddie C. Williams and Augusta Galloway Williams.
Will, who is best known as “Al” by his family and friends, graduated from J.W. Scott High School in 1954. He was a long-time member of the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church along with his wife Sandra Brown Williams.
Al was a dedicated factory worker at Inmont for many years until the company went out of business. As a hard worker, he then went to work with Northwestern Ohio Development Center in their maintenance department until his retirement.
In his spare time, Al enjoyed fishing and was an average bowler on several bowling leagues. He was very skillful with his hands and liked to tinker with things. When his kids were growing up they always had bicycles, mini bikes and go carts that he built along with his sons, Punchie and Glen. Al spent a lot time in his garage working on and rebuilding lawn mowers that he later sold from his home on Nebraska Avenue. He loved talking about the many tools he had and didn’t mind giving you a helping hand if you needed something fixed. He was a good cook and was known for contributing his well-loved lemon meringue pie at family reunions and family gatherings.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; son: Glen Williams; brothers: Fred C. Williams Jr., Jerry Galloway; brother-in-law’s: Fred Epperson and R.T. Braddy; sisters: L. Marie Williams, Ruth Epperson, Margaret Ann Hollis, and Gloria Williams.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years Sandra Brown Williams; sons: Will “Punchie” Williams Jr., Jared Jenkins, Severn A. Brown; daughters: Laveeda Scott, Carmen “Penny” Williams, Kelly L. Williams, and Vandra (George) Robinson; sisters: Carolyn Sharp, Augustine “Tina” Braddy; brother: Lawrence Galloway; sister-in-law: Rubie Williams; 16 grandchildren, six great- grands, one great-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
