Obituary for Terrance R. Jackson

Terrence Ridley Jackson was born in Eufala, AL on February 8, 1955 to Millard and Kate Jackson. He was preceded in death by both parents and Wife Mary Jackson.

Terrence was a graduate and Alumni of St. John’s Jesuit High School in 1973, where he continued his education at Ohio University and crossed the sands of Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter on February 2, 1974. It was at Ohio University where he developed the nickname “Riddles” and later graduated with a degree in History in 1977.

Terrence entered the United States Army in September of 1980. During his service, he conducted a combat rotation in support of Operation Desert Storm as an Air Defense Artillery Soldier. He completed his service at the rank of Staff Sergeant in May of 1994, recieving a Honorably Discharged.

Terrence was an avid pipe collector with over 200+ pipes from all over the world. He was also a connoisseur in music from R&B, Rap, and Jazz to Pop, Contemporary, and Rock. He also enjoyed “tinkering” with his video equipment, which ranged from Reel to Reel, Beta and VHS. He loved spending time spoiling his canine and companion, Diesel.

Terrence departed this life on Saturday October 3, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Descendants left to cherish his memories are Son Major Terrence Earle Jackson, Daughter and Caretaker Tomeisha Smith, and his Daughter Allayne Washington; Grandchildren Cierra Griggs, Caterra Smith, Kupuno Peru Jackson, Kayla Washington, Zoe Washington and Grant Washington; Great-Grandchildren, Garron Griggs Jr., Stephon Burnett II, and Cali Griggs. His memory will also be cherished by a host of loving relatives, cousins, Fraternity Brothers, Service members, students, teachers and friends.

Terrence loved being the “life of the party”, giving advice, and sharing his knowledge and Military stories. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.
