Stanley Files Sr. was born February 23, 1958 to Harrison and Alberta (Grice) Files Sr. in Toledo, Ohio. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Stanley attended Glenwood Elementary and Scott High School. He loved sports, his favorite teams were Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Los Angels Lakers. He loved listening to music, especially Sadé, The O’Jays, and Prince. He loved to cook; his best dishes were chili, gumbo, and different soups. Throughout his life, he worked at Supreme Bumper, Hunt’s, and Alro Steel.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta and Harrison Files Sr.; siblings, Harrison Files Jr., Charlie Frank Files Sr., and Genette Woodson; brothers-in-law, Elder Walter Chandler, Willie Lee McClain, and Paul Johnson; sister-in-law, Sherry McClain, and father-in-law, Willie Henry McClain.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, together 31 years, Tammie Files; his children, Sherrie Files, Sherresse Baccus, Stanley Files Jr., Passion Brown, De’Veika Files, and De’Marcus Files all of Toledo, Ohio; his sister, Goleathea Files, Rose Johnson, Rayneal Files, and Rochelle Garrett; brothers, Rev. Benjamin (Nicole) Files and Terry (Tanya) Files; spiritual sister and brother, Evangelist Brenda and Elder Claude McFall; his sisters-in-law, Ethel Files, Evangelist Mary Chandler, and Pamela Cotton; brothers-in-law, Robert McClain and Ricky McClain; mother-in-law, Lou McClain, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his best friends, Edgar, Lias, French, Angelo, Thurman, and Mark “Blind”.
