Obituary for Regel Lee Haynes

Regel Lee Haynes was born on April 24, 1954 in McKenzie,
TN. He was the youngest of the seven children born to Jimmie
and Mattie Haynes.
Regel spent his early years in McKenzie, TN; attending Webb
Elementary. When the family relocated to Toledo, OH, in 1965,
he attended Lincoln Elementary, and Robinson Junior High.
Regel went to Scott High School, where he was captain of football and wrestling, placed 2nd in the state in wrestling his junior and senior year. He also help led the football team to the City Championship before graduating in 1972.
Upon graduating high school, Regel went to Ohio University in
Athens, OH before enlisting in the military, serving in the U.S.
Army. He served his country honorably from 1975 to 1979.
Returning to Ohio in 1980, Regel married Davina Long in
1981 and started a family. He worked several manufacturing jobs
before moving to Maryland in 1997. In Maryland, he worked at
Smithfield Foods, and was also a counselor and a Para-transport
at a group home for boys. Upon retirement, Regel returned to
Toledo in 2013.
After retirement, Regel's focus was on family. He enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren, giving guidance to his
nephews, as well as sitting on the porch and "shootin' the
breeze" with family, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Jimmie and
Mattie; brothers Cluster, Billy, and James; and sister Delores.
Regel leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Tschann
Haynes, Danielle McCarver, Natanya Moody (Anthony);
grandchildren Jadan, JaiLa, JaNae, Tyler, TeAria, DaVon,
Kennedy, and Madison; sister Janet Pearson, brother Donnie
Haynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces,
grand nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
