Obituary for Ora Dee Taylor

Ora Dee Taylor was born on May 23, 1928 to the union of Willie and Virgie Robinson in Whatley, Alabama. She went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2021.

Ora was married to Uriah Horn Sr. at the age of 18 and remained married to Uriah until his death in 1961. Upon his death, she moved her family to Toledo, Ohio. After moving to Toledo, she met and married Nathaniel Taylor and remained married to him until his death in 2019.

Ora confessed her life to Christ and was baptized in Whatley, AL at a young age. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church for over 50 years, under the leadership of the Reverend Samuel Coleman. She later moved her membership to Southern Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained until her death.

She was employed at Craft Master Corporation for many years, until her retirement.

She was a loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, shopping, dressing up, taking care of her flowers, talking on the telephone, setting on her front porch and listening to music (especially AI Green). She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Ora was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Vergie Robinson, her husbands, Uriah Horn Sr. and Nathaniel Taylor, eleven siblings, her daughter, Janie Horn-Smith and her granddaughter, Mickiah "Mickey" Horn.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Uriah Horn Jr., Kennesaw, GA, Johnny (Carolyn) Horn, Toledo, OH, Kenneth Taylor, Detroit, MI. Daughter, Wanda Horn, Toledo, OH. Stepdaughters, Anna Yvonne Robinson, Gary, IN and Veora Brown, Toledo, OH. Sister Lee Dorothy Ellis, Toledo, OH, sister-in-law, Sandra Robinson
and a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.
