Obituary for Nettie Mae Nickerson

Nettie Mae Nickerson was born July 30, 1944 to the union of the late Corine Johnson and Jerry Richardson Jr. in Memphis, Tennessee, but she was raised in Arkansas.

Nettie was very educated, attending Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1963.

In 1964, at The Green Light is where she met her husband, Waymon Nickerson. They later married in 1970 in Toledo, Ohio. In 1971 is when her only son, Waymon Nickerson Jr. was born.

She was later employed at Hoffman Industries in Perrysburg, and Heartland of Toledo nursing home. In 1993 she felt the need to stay home to fulfill her pleasure in gardening and taking care of her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Nettie lived life unafraid, often outspoken, and remorselessly honest with a sense of humor. Nettie found pleasure in may things.

Nettie is preceded in death by her only two daughters, LaTonya and Stacey Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 51 years, Waymon Nickerson Sr.; son, Waymon Nickerson Jr.; grandkids, Kiara Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Ayanna Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Jesse Fitch, Jessica Fitch, Elighia Fitch, and LaCharnina Johnson, along with a host of extended family.
