Obituary for Mildred Wood
Mildred A. Wood, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was born in Charleston, Missouri, to Ms. Mary Elizabeth Flowers and Thomas D. Allen.
Mildred worked at Riverside Hospital as a Nurse Aid for over 30 years, until she retired. Upon retirement, she spent her free time taking care of her grandkids and making sure that her family came first.
Mildred enjoyed to dance, and be the life of the party. She also enjoyed shopping at flea markets, garage sales. She could definitely make a dollar stretch.
She adored her family and friends. Mildred was a kind and gentle soul, but could be a firecracker if you made her mad. Mildred lived her final days happy and free. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be remembered as the glue that held her family together.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Aurthor G. Wood; brother, Robert Allen; sister, Louise Welch; and grandson, Brian Wood.
Surviving are her children, Dale A. Wood, Tamara Wood; granddaughter, Giah Wood; grandson, Dale A. Wood; and two great granddaughters, Jasshyia and Jayda Winston.
Friends may visit family on Friday February 19th, 2021 from 11-12pm at House Of Day 2550 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, OH 43607. Service will be held at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Heatherdowns Rehabilitation nursing home for the wonderful care they provided over the 3 yrs thank you.
