Obituary for Mildred V. Waterman

Mildred V. Polk-Waterman, was born on, May 30, 1928, to the union of, Jefferson and Evia Avery, in Guys, Tennessee. She was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on, September 11, 2020, at the University of Toledo Medical College Hospital.

Mildred was a faithful member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church, until her passing. She was a member of both
the Nurse's Guild and the Citywide Nurses District Association. Mildred worked various jobs throughout her life, but her favorite pastime was cooking, sewing, gardening and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hendry Waterman; son, Lawrence Polk; grandson, Keith Polk Huffman, sisters, Lavoria Anthony, Muzzetta Iron and Jerniece Avery and brother, William Avery.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Gwyonder Perryman, of Reno, Nevada; son, Keith Polk, of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Lillie Mae Atkin, of Harlem, New York; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; goddaughter, Charmin Rhodes, of Omaha, Nebraska; cousin, Lois Avery, of Detroit, Michigan; special friends, Martha Tucker, Jackie Walker, Cliffie Hunter, Ms. Robbie J. and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She will be sadly missed by her neighborhood friends
