Michael E. Lee, also known as Deacon Lee was born January 15,1966 to the late Robert Louis Ellis Sr. and Mary Earnestine Lee. He later married Shanna Rose Belcher. To that union they have five children and also were blessed to help raise three other children.

At an early age, he confessed his life to Christ. He has been a member of Cornerstone Church under the leadership of Bishop Michael Pitts. His Church Home at the time of his passing was Greater Dreams Church under the leadership of Bishop Larry Mack. Deacon Lee was a faithful servant of God and served in the Children's Ministry.

Michael was a strong pillar in the church and a true believer who loved the Lord. Michael was a kind hearted, giving man who loved his family and worked tirelessly to make sure they were taken care of. He was truly loved by everyone he knew.

On Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM, The Lord Almighty called his child home to be with him.

He attended the Jesup W. Scott High School. He was employed with Cafe Marie for many years. He then went on to work for Hollywood Casino and later employed at Dana Corporation.

He is preceded in death by his Mother; Mary Earnestine Lee. Father; Robert Louis Ellis Sr. Grandmother, Annie Pearl Lee. Stepmother; Rose Marie Ellis. Son;Trevon Gist.

Memories of his life are left to be cherished by Wife Shanna Lee. Sons: Brandon, Armond and Aaron Lee. Daughters: Tionna (China) Sutton, and Alexi.s Lee. Children he helped raise; Terrence Gist and Taishia Johnson. Brothers; Johnny (Shanida) Lee ,Robert Louis Ellis,Jr, Ramone (Deanna) Mitchell Ward, all of South Bend, IN. Sisters ;Audrey (George) Sparks, Bergetta (Nate) Garth,Vickie (June) Smith,Crystal Ellis,Denise (Albert) Earl, all of Toledo,OH. Cassandra Ellis, Santa Barbara,CA. Melissa (Randy) Scantling, Miami,FL. Tonya (Willie) Brown,South Bend,IN. Uncle: M.L. Burton,Toledo,OH. Aunts: Tanya Mallards, South Bend, IN.

Rosie Fleming,Milwaukee, WI. Special Sister-In-Law and best friend Georgia (Gary) Roscoe. Special lifetime and close friends: Chris Warner,Gregg Files, Marcus Sutton. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and so many friends.


We sat beside your bedside. Our hearts were crushed and broken. We did our best to comfort you, till we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away. And though our hearts were breaking,we knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts,that loved you most sincere. We never shall and never will forget you Deacon Michael Eugene Lee.
