Meldon Bridges, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2020. She was born to Robert Wesley and Margaret (Dabbs) Wesley in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Wesley mother, Margaret Wesley, brothers, Michael Dabbs, Anthony Dabbs and Henry Dabbs. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Willie Bridges Sr; children, Cassandra Williams, Sarah Bridges, Margaret Jones, Kimberly Bridges, Christal Bridges, Vivan Bridges and her only son Willie (Amy) Bridges Jr; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Delores Jefferson, Beverly Dabbs, Antwan Dabbs and L.C. Dabbs. Meldon was a Godly woman with strong faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was active in her church, House of Prayer Holiness Church where the senior pastor is Pastor Leonard McMillan; where she presided over the usher board, the women’s auxiliary and oversaw the kitchen staff. She was a home child care business owner for over 20 years, as well as employed at Rainbow Homes as a direct care aide for over 20 years. She was a great cook, loving mother, wife and trusted friend due to her “no-nonsense” and “tell-it-like-it-is” nature. She was blessed to have a long friendship with her "sisters" and special friends Josephine Ward, Linda Woodard, Rose Cheatum, Vivian Bennett, Earnestine Hamilton, Miriam Wells and Lula Miles. She leaves behind a host of family, friends and people whose lives have been touched by her; she will be deeply missed.
The House of Day Funeral Home, located at 2550 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43607
will provide funeral services. On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, a walk-through wake hour will be held for the public from 12 pm-1 pm at the House of Day Funeral Services Chapel. Funeral services are limited to 50 immediate family members per COVID 19 regulations and will be held promptly at 1 pm, also in the House of Day Funeral Services Chapel.
