Obituary for Mae Ella Stokes-Townsley

Mae Ella Stokes – Townsley was born August 19, 1939 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Frank Moore Sr., and Magnolia Gwin Moore. Her parents moved to Toledo, Ohio when she was a teenager. After graduating from Whitney High School, she went to nursing school and became an LPN. She later graduated with her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Toledo in 1999. She was blessed with a Son Herman Stokes III and daughter Stacy (Stokes) Blunt. In 2002, Mae Ella married Cletus "Phez" J. Townsley, who preceded her in death in August 29, 2009. Mae Ella loved and cherished her family and faithfully took care her Mom alongside other siblings until her Mothers passing.

After serving as and LPN for several years, Mae worked as a Bank Teller, Production worker at Chrysler Jeep, which she retired from after 28 years of continuous service. She enjoyed catering with her sisters and brothers in the Lord and served as an Administrator for The Church of Grace.

She accepted Christ early in her life, was very faithful and loyal to the ministries she was involved in. Some of her duties included Hospitality, Sunday School, Kitchen Ministry and several others.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Stacy (Gary) Blunt, inherited –son Cletus M. Townsley, her brothers Frank Moore Jr., Keith (Sheila) Moore, sisters Anita Moore, Rhonda Moore, Regina Howard; one granddaughter, Chauncey Stokes; three grandsons, Stephen Blunt Sr., Shellie Freelon and Julian Townsley - Bass; and a host of other loving relatives, spiritual children and many kind friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Moore Sr., Magnolia Moore, husband Cletus J. Townsley , son Herman Stokes III, sister Emma L. Pierce and brother David Moore Sr.,
