Madeline Henley went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2020, at the age of 92. She had faith in God's plan for her life and was at peace when she was called home by the Lord. Madeline was the youngest of 7 children born to the union of Reverend Cephas W. Lawrence and Estley Thelma Short Lawrence on December 14,1927.
Madeline completed her education in Greensboro, graduating from Dudley High School and A and T College with a BA in Business Administration and upon graduation moved to Toledo Ohio to live with her sister Viola Lawrence (Crain).
Madeline married Jack Moore (who proceeded her in death) and joined his church Phillips Temple CME Church. Madeline was a nurse's aide at Toledo hospital and subsequently had a career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she retired. She found a new career with Senior Nutrition as a site manager for an additional 10 years. She maintained her friendships with all of her former coworkers over the years.
Madeline married Willie C. Henley who preceded her in death and continued to volunteer at her church on the Steward board and visited the sick and shut in with her servant's heart. She was a care giver, beloved sister, a devoted friend and a lover of Christ.
Madeline is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Annie Taylor and Viola Crain and brother Cephas Lawrence. Madeline leaves to cherish her memory nieces and nephews Thelma Crain, Denise Crain and Diane Williams, Deborah Gardner, Darryl Macon, Sharon Tomas, Gail Johnson, Robin Thomas, God daughter Gwendolyn Briggs and a host of dear friends, family and other loved ones.
