Obituary for Lula Lee Hicks

Lula Lee Hicks was born on November 27, 1925 in Sidon, Mississippi to the late James Peter Dunning and Lula Lee Lockett. After her mother's passing, she lived with her grandfather Joseph Lockett helping to raise her siblings. Years later, she moved to Toledo, Ohio performing domestic work living with her late sister Willie Mae Bibbs. At an early age, Lula accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She became a member of Warren A.M.E. Church. She later met the late Joseph Hicks and they were united in marriage. She was employed over the years at Byrnebrook Nursing Home and Parkview Hospital. Lula was a member of the Composite Chapter #81 for over 50 years. She was a great mother who loved to cook and bake. She gave encouragement daily and emphasized on always doing what was right. It was important to her that Jesus Christ is THE ANSWER. Lula passed this life on March 14, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
