Obituary for Lula Hawkins

Ms. Lula L. Hawkins was born February 26, 1951 to the union of Joel Coleman and Vesi Tomas in Sunflower, Mississippi. As a child, she relocated to Toledo, Ohio. She was a Libbey High School student. She later went on to Stautzenberger College where she graduated and obtained a degree in healthcare.

Lula was the life of the party with her family and close friends. She loved cooking colossal meals for everyone she loved and even those she did not personally know. Lula loved her western movies, old school music, playing the lottery, her lemons, and fishing.

In 1972 she married Clyde L. Hawkins, and from that union four children were brought into the world, Lovell (Gina), Vanita (Johnny), Leslie, and Clyde Randall (Arieanne).

She was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Samella, and a grandson, Deadrick Sr. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her four children, 18 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren, a sister, Elmira, a brother, Joel Jr., her life companion, Douglas Graves, and several family members and friends, special friends, Ms. Eva, Ms. Juanita, and Mike, special nephew and fishing buddy, Marvin Coleman.
