Obituary

Loisteen Griffin was born to the union of Jim and Jessie Bell Everage on August 5, 1934 in Flora, Mississippi. She went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2020. Lois moved to Toledo in 1956 to provide a better life for her family. She confessed her love for Jesus Christ at an early age and remained a devoted Christian and God fearing woman for the duration of her life.

She was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Otis W. Jones, where she was a member of the Mothers Board and the Ushers Board. Later she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Talmadge J. Thomas. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jessie Bell Everage; brothers, Walter Lee, Billy, and L.C. Everage; sisters, Willie Mae Louden, Charlestine Chaffin, Lula Bell Griffin, Jessie Lewis, and Corine Terry; children, Dennis Griffin, Stephania Lyons, and grandchild, Jazmund Lyons.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Cleveland Griffin, Alan Lyons, and Steve Griffin; grandchildren, Schnelle Lyons-Riley (Aladin), Shaneice Jones (Zettie), Pfaness Lyons, Landers Brownlee (Shatyra), Alan Lyons II (Jameela), Isis Griffin, Stephon Griffin, Infinity Griffin, Alajia Lyons, and Damonte Lyons; fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Lois will always be remembered by her loved ones for her wisdom, tough love, her service in the community, and her awesome stories. The legacy she leaves behind will last forever.
