LILLIE MAE HICKS “JERRY MOMMY”
Lillie Mae Hicks (Jerry Mommy) was born December 20, 1926 to Frank and Otelia Hicks in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday 28, 2019.
“Jerry Mommy” was the youngest of twenty-eight children all who have proceeded her in death. She is also proceeded in death by her loving husband Medie Hicks, Sr and two of her loving children, Vivian Anne Hicks and Michael Develyn Hicks.
Say her name and some of the words that come to mind are feisty, sassy, fiery, unapologetic, straightforward, funny, traveler. She was the neighborhood mother, whether it was Vance Street or Independence Road. The long and short of it is just this: Once you stepped into her world, you were never the same. Once you became a part of her family, you remained a part of her family!
She is survived by her five surviving children Evelyn Earl (Dallas, TX), Medie Hicks, Jr. (Debra) Toledo OH, Olivia Carter (Toledo OH), Wyatt Edward Hicks (Sonja) Toledo OH, Jerry Fitzgerald Hicks (Stamford CT). She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and six great-great grand-children, numerous other “love adopted” children, grandchildren, great grandchildren along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Today we don’t say Goodbye, but Good Night and Good Dreams!
