Obituary for Leila Murdock
Our beloved Leila Murdock entered this world on January 28, 1927 to loving parents Augusta and Inez McMullen. She made her transition on January 21, 2021 after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
Leila was united in marriage to the love of her life Freddie B. Murdock She was a devout believer in our Lord Jesus Christ from a young age. You could often hear her sing hymns throughout her day. Her belief was her foundation and allowed her in her own way to minister to her family and friends.
Leila worked for many years in the medical field. Although unable to work in her chosen field she began her life's work at the Central Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Mother's Board and Kitchen Committee.
No friend or family could ever deny her outstanding hospitality. She loved to cook and welcomed all to fellowship with her over a great meal.
She was preceded in death by her both parents Augustus and Inez McMullin, husband: Freddie B. Murdock, brothers: Augustus McMullin, Jr., Sylvester McMullin, sons: Ossie Hayes, Donnie Hayes, and daughter: Inetta Gibson

She leaves to cherish her memories Sons: Nemon (Dorothy) Hayes, Louis Ray Hines, Mikel Jenkins, Daughters: Pearlie (Danny) Thompson, Ella (Reginald) Coleman, Betty Hills, Brenda (Fred) Pettaway, Julie (John)Bell and host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren along host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
