Obituary for Lavon George Berry

Lavon George Berry age 46, affectionately known by family as (Sputt) and friends as (Spud), transitioned to eternity on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Lavon was born to Jimmie Hall Sr and Renee Mainer on February 14, 1974 in Chicago Heights, IL. Lavon was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle and friend and people enjoyed being around him.

Lavon was diagnosed with cancer but it never slowed him down. He always yelled "YOLO" ( you only live once) and always showed that he was a fighter and would never give up. The way he died, is just like the way he lived. He wrote his own rules, he fought authority, he paved his own way, and if you said he couldn't do it he would make sure he did. If you asked a hundred people who Lavon George Berry was, they'd all give you a different story. What we all can agree on is that hanging out with him would end in a night of jail or a killer hangover.

He was proceeded in death by his grandfathers George Berry and Roosevelt Hall; grandmothers Margie Stovall and Dorothy Hall, father J.C. Mainor, sister Sharita Mainor, and uncle Robert Berry. May they all be joined in peace. Lavon is survived by four children, Denisesha Shavon Highsmith, Lavon George Berry Jr., Ludivia Renee Berry, Levon Gregory Berry; and six siblings Cedrick (Jenny) Berry, Jimmie Lee Hall Jr., Cherlonda (Gerry) Howard, Raushann Mainor, Marcus James Hall and Tiawanna Cox. Lavon leaves to cherish a host of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
