Obituary for LaTrice Lynette Smith (Everage)
LaTrice Lynette Everage-Smith was born on October 12,1971 in Toledo, Ohio to Tyrone Cooper and Jeannette (Everage) Grainger. At 51 years of age she departed this life on February 13, 2023 at her home.
LaTrice was the oldest of her siblings. She was baptized at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. Harry M. Crenshaw and was a member of the Jerusalem Junior Choir, and Youth and Young Adult Choir. She was also active in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. LaTrice later joined Keys to the Kingdom Christian Fellowship under the leadership of pastor Rodney L. Everage, Sr. and Co-Pastor Sharon A. Everage. She was the church secretary and supported various auxiliaries of the church. LaTrice was loved by her church family.
LaTrice attended and graduated from Nathan Hale Elementary School, Deveaux Jr. High, and Macomber Whitney High School. She also attended University of Cincinnati, where she studied Business Administration. LaTrice's favorite color was rose gold, and she loved leopard print.
She was known for her infectious smile, and eagerness to help others. She loved cooking, gardening, decorating and spending time with her family and friends. She was a caring and compassionate person.
LaTrice was the Owner and Operator of Simply Weddings & Event Planners, LLC. She coordinated, planned, and decorated weddings various events in Toledo and surrounding areas. She was very creative with her wedding decor, especially her floral arrangements.
LaTrice was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannette Grainger; Father, Tyrone Cooper; Sister, Lashonda Renee Grainger; Grandparents, L. C. Everage, Sr, Celestine Everage, Elizabeth Lewis, Aleyne Grainger, Joe Frank "Roy D" Grainger; Uncles, Bobbie Ray Moore, Carl D. Everage, L.C. Everage, Jr.; God-mother, Desiree Cam, all of Toledo, Ohio.
LaTrice leaves to cherish her fond memories, Fiancee, Terry Watson, Sr., Dad, Charlie Grainger; Brothers, Roy D. (Charia) Grainger, Boss Brown, Delvin Cooper, and Patrick Cooper; Sons, Robert Smith II, Terry (TJ) Watson, Jr.; Daughter, Erykia Grainger; Grandson, Semaj Wright-Grainger; Aunts, Angela Williams, Linda (Rickey) Boyd; Uncle, Pastor Rodney L. (Sharon A.) Everage, Sr.; all of Toledo, Ohio; Best Friend, Leslie Happy, and a host of relative and kind friends. LaTrice will be greatly missed by all that know and love her dearly.
