Obituary for John Lee Toyer Jr.
John L. Toyer, JR. was born on August 16, 1946 in Marion, AL to Sadie & Johnnie L. Toyer, and he departed this life on March 10, 2021. He was a graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School in 1965. John was a veteran of the US Army; he joined the US Army in December of 1965 and was honorably discharged in December 1967 after fighting in the Vietnam war. He was a retired bus driver for Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority.
John was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served in many roles when his health allowed. He was a foundation to many often providing guidance and assistance to those in need. John was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his entire family. He was preceded in death by his mother Sadie Harris, father Johnnie Toyer, step-mother Trudie Mae Toyer, brother Isaac Toyer, sister Sheila Barnes.
He leaves behind to mourn his daughters: Carrie (Isaac) Neal and Starletta Jordan, grandchildren: Gianna, Isaiah & Indyah Neal. Brothers: Arthur, Leonard, Christopher (Tonya), and Richard. Sisters: Faye (Roy) Brooks, Joyce, Patricia (John) Stockard, Regina, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
