Obituary for Joe Lovett
Joe Lovett was born January 24, 1936 in North Edison, NJ, to the union of Aurelius and Jessie Mae Lovett. He departed this life on May 27, 2020, to join his wife, Georgia Lovett; mother and father, Aurelius Sr. and Jessie Mae; brothers, Robert (Vi), Aurelius Jr. (JoAnn), Herbert (Pat); sisters, Alice, Marie, Hattie, Clementine, and Emily.
Joe accepted Christ at an early age. He was an active baseball player which led to his love of sports. Joe moved to Chagrin Falls in 1968 where he met Georgia Washington. They were married on May 11, 1973. Joe has been a faithful servant of God for many years. Joe joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor john H. Riggins. where he served on the Deacon Board, and never missed a business meeting, Bible study, or events.
Joe worked in construction for over 20 years. Joe was the perfect example of how a true man of God serves God, provides for his family and as a leader in the community.
Joe moved to Toledo, OH in 2010, where he joined Cornerstone Church in Maumee, OH, under Bishop Michael Pitts.
Joe had an amazing effect on everyone he encountered. No matter where he was, he was always willing to share his knowledge and experiences about God, life, sports, or politics with anyone. Joe knew exactly what to say to comfort or offer a healing or encouraging word to anyone in need.
No matter how long my dad worked or how tired he was when he walked through the door, he always had time for us. My dad taught us how a real man is supposed to treat a lady. He taught us the meaning of hard work and the importance of family. He also taught us how to stand up for our beliefs, and to make our voices be heard in a respectable way.
Joe leaves behind, hes daughters, JoAnn (Keith), Tammy (James) Vanessa, Robin, Gayle, Rhonda; son, Myron; grand kids, 11, including, Jalen; 31 great-grand kids; 7 great-great grand kids; brothers, Richard, Douglas (Gwen), John (Gloria) Ronald; brothers-in-law, Deacon William Washington (Jennifer) and Laverne Washington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
