Obituary for Jewel Dean Johnson

Jewel Dean Johnson, age 82, passed peacefully on August 30, 2020 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 4, 1937 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Archie Sr. and Eumah Burch. She was a 1956 graduate of Boswell High School.

Jewel was united in marriage to James Clark and to that union they had two sons. Later she re-married William L. Johnson and to that union they has two sons and one daughter. Jewel accepted Christ and was baptized in 1985 at Laura Koppe Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. After re-locating to Toledo, Ohio she placed her membership at the Glass City Church of Christ.

She worked for Toledo Tent Company, Chrysler, Kroger Company and The Andersons. Jewel was an avid fisherman. Any where there was water, you would see her fishing. She enjoyed travelling but most of all, she enjoyed family getting together for dinner and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Johnson, stepdaughters, Denise Johnson, and Cynthia Johnson. Parents, Archie Sr. and Eumah Burch, her brothers, Samuel Burch, Garrie ‘Pete’ Burch, Charles Burch and Archie Burch, Jr., three sisters, Mozella Burch, Naomi Curry, and Lilly Mae. Three grandsons, Victor Johnson, DeJuan Johnson, Travis Johnson, and one great grandson, Joseph D.Hague/Elbert .

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Byron (Deborah) Clark, Los Gatos, California, Michael Clark, Toledo, Ohio, Craig Johnson, Toledo, Ohio, Vincent Johnson, Huntsville, Texas. Two stepsons, Victor Johnson, Toledo, Ohio, Raymond Rogers, Cleveland, Ohio. One daughter, Stefanie Bias, Toledo, Ohio. One stepdaughter Christy L. Hague, Toledo, Ohio. One brother, Marion (Beverly) Burch, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One sister, Mary Boykins, Toledo, Ohio. 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
