Obituary for Jahneil Anthony Douglas

Jahneil Anthony Douglas passed away on July 7, 2020 at the age of 22. He was born March 27, 1998 in Toledo, Ohio. Jahneil started his football career at 8 years old with the Colts with Coach Martin Merrit. To further his experience in football, Jahneil participated in Summer Camp at the University of Notre Dame for several years. As a freshman in high school, at Roy C. Start High School, he played football all four years where he then graduated in 2017. Jahneil then furthered his education at the University of Toledo with a full athletic scholarship, majoring in business communications.

Jahneil accepted Christ at a young age, was christened by Doctor H.M. Crenshaw, and was baptized by Doctor W.L. Perryman, Jr. Jahneil loved Rap music. He wanted to be a one hit wonder. He was known for his infectious smiles and his laid back demeanor, our gentle giant. He was known for having love for his family, especially his children. He loved to travel to New York and New Jersey to visit his father's side of the family. He had several nicknames including JD, Jah, Rah Rah, Doug, and Primo, but his his favorite name he enjoyed hearing was "Dad".

Jahneil leaves to cherish his memory, his children Ivy Marie Douglas, 4, Maverick Joe Demoe, 1, and Jah'ire Anthony Douglas, 10 months; parents, Vinton Douglas from New Jersey and Brandi Hopkins of Toledo, Ohio; Gary Ruffin and Wardell Jones who he "Pops"; sisters, Jadah, Dariah, Alejah, and Aryon; brothers, Charlie, Jaden, Tabir, and Ryan; grandparents; Curtis and Rosetta Hopkins and Eugenia A. Wilson, his beautiful Candy Easter, and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Jahneil will be missed by all who loved him.
