Jacquelyn Louise Mullins affectionately known as “Jackie” was born on July 7, 1943 to the late James & Annette Chaney in Chicago, Illinois. Jacquelyn went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Jacquelyn received Christ in her twenties and after relocating to Toledo, Ohio she was a part of several churches and found her home at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Jacquelyn is a graduate of the University of Toledo where she received her Bachelor’s in Arts Degree.
She was a passionate advocate for those living with mental health issues and spent many years working and traveling for various agencies in Northwest Ohio.
Jackie loved the Lord and served Him diligently in the City Wide Missionary Fellowship and also the Toledo Singing Quartet Chapter 70-1. She was very active in the International Bible Study Fellowship, the Red Hatter’s Society and also an advocate and participant in the Senior Luncheon sponsored by Medical Mutual of Ohio. Until her health declined, Jackie was dedicated to her position within the Toledo Public School system as a part of their in class Grandparents Program.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her son Darrell R. Lesley Sr., her brother James Chaney Jr. and her husband Edward Mullins.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Trina L. Lesley-Jewell (Anthony), daughter-in-law Babbie Bell, grandchildren, Andrea, Aaron, Darrell Jr., Daniel, Chate’, and Alexia. Great-grandchildren Diamond, Tyjuan, Tyreon, Maniyah, Darrell III, D’Shay, Derel, Makayden, Devion, Kevion, Dalon, Ja’niya, and Ryliah. Nephew, James Chaney III, Goddaughters, Onevia Allen and Kristy Davis. Cousin, Phillip Williams, lifelong friends, Ms. Otha Dillard and Ms. Jeanette Brown, special friend Mr. Luke Harper; her church family and a host of special relatives and friends.
