Obituary for Howard Douglass Blalark

Howard Douglass Blalark blessed the world with his life on August 24, 1963 in Toledo Ohio to the late Jessie Blalark and Georgia Ann Blalark. He transitioned to glory on April 5 ,2020 with his eyes looking towards heaven. Surely the angels rejoiced upon his arrival.

Howard graduated from Macomber high school in 1981. He went on to study at Defiance college. He eventually decided to become an electrician with the IBEW Local 8 1983. In 1987 he served our country in the National Guard.

Howard heard the calling of God on his life and was reborn into ministry in 1986. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost the same night at Bethel Apostolic under Pastor Ernest Cross. He immediately dedicated his life to ministry, starting with ushering, a deacon, and quickly developed his gift with the word of God with teaching bible study and Sunday school.

He served as a camp counselor at ODC youth camp at the Hallowed Hills campgrounds in Zanesville, Ohio and was quickly ordained as camp director by Elder Forman. He received his license as an Elder from the Pentecostal Assembly of the World and then went on to build his own ministry becoming Pastor of Mount Tabor. Howard led his ministry to the beautiful home of worship at 4640 S. Detroit Ave. Toledo Ohio and renamed the ministry Church of New Beginnings.

Howard was a devoted father and was blessed with three beautiful children Marquest Blalark, Brittnay (LeSean) Shaw, and Da’Na Blalark with Dana Blalark. Howard valued family and extended his love when his family grew, with his wife Tameka Blalark and children, through marriage Lonester Coleman Jr. and Tamea Coleman. Howard was a proud grandfather to ten amazing grandchildren, a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Howard loved playing basketball, football, shooting pool, and swimming.

Howard will be greeted in heaven by his late mother and father, Jessie Blalark and Georgia Ann Blalark, brother Alan Blalark, and sister Andrea Roberts. He is survived by his brother Jessie Blalark, sisters Kathryn Thompson and Joan Ellis. His memory will live on through his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and those he blessed through ministry.
