Obituary

We come together today to celebrate and mourn the life of the late Mr. Grover Lee Davis, Sr. He was born on April 3, 1938 in Stamps, Arkansas to the late West Lurlene Davis. Grover departed the life at the age of 82 at the Laurels of Toledo.

Grover relocated to Toledo, Ohio in 1967. He worked for Stamps Lumber Yard for years before relocating to Toledo, Ohio, where he began working for Goody's Trucking. Also being a street mechanic, he grew a passion for working on vehicles. He leaves that trait with his son, Robert Davis, Sr.

Grover was a member of the "Black Hawks CB Club" (a Brown Ghost). He enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, fishing, and listening to Blues.

Grover joined Greater St. John C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of Supt. Johnny M. Hobbs. Grover had a bond with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Betty Forest-McCray, Hazel Hayes, Anna Lee McDuffie, Earnestine Rucks, and Margie Brock; brothers, Charlie Davis and James Curtis Davis; daughter, Linda Williams; stepdaughters, Crystal Patrick; son, Bryant Williams; grandson, Deshawn Davis, and great-granddaughter, LeNasia Patrick.

Grover leaves to cherish his memories with his sister, Maurice Davis; daughters, Gwendolyn (Dale) Carroll, Lakisa Moss, Patricia (James) Faulks, Janee Davis, Brandy Madrid, Victoria Davis, and Selena Davis; step daughter, Tina Williams; sons, Harold Cooper, Grover Davis, Jr., Emmanuel Davis, Dwayne Davis, Jason (Lisa) Davis, Maurice Davis, Robert Davis, and Victor Davis; special niece, Joyce Woods, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
