Obituary for Gloria Jean McFadden

Gloria Jean McFadden, age 77, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020 in her home. She was born on February 11, 1943 to Susie (Abrams) and Cain Blanchard in Toledo, OH. She graduated from Scott High School and then attended secretarial school. Gloria was employed by L.O.F. (PilkingtonNorth America) and retired after 35 years of service, She continued to work after retiring, for Lucas County Children Services. Gloria was a member of St. Paul Methodist A.M.E. for many years. She married Chester McFadden, Sr. on November 17, 1966, from this union bore Chester McFadden Jr. The couple were married 26 years
.
Gloria enjoyed traveling, playing cards, watching NBA games, and attending jazz concerts. However, her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family (this included playing Bid Whist with her brothers and sisters for hours on end).

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Edward Blanchard, and sisters Brenda Payne and Susie Sanders. She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Chester McFadden Jr., stepdaughter, Jerrie Lavett McFadden-Newsome; grandchildren Candice Dunning, Chester “Tre” McFadden III, Brittney Benard, Arnisha Gibbs, and Cody Farrow, along with 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers Herbert (Norma)
Blanchard, Charles (Floyda) Blanchard, and sister Irene Moore.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all who took care of and visited Gloria, especially her caregiver, Tina Stvartak, who took care of her faithfully, with grace and dignity. Gloria will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her smile and laughter will stay with them all.
