Obituary

Gloria Jean Ellison Cole-Cooper was born on December 20, 1948, 1962 in small town Midiville, GA to John Saunders and Mary Gresham (Ewell Ellison). Our Heavenly Father Called her home on August 4, 2020. Gloria was a faithful member New Hope Baptist Church of Lexington, KY, under the leadership of Reverend Bobby Long, where she was baptized and committed her life to Christ. On August 14, 2010 was one of the happiest days of her life, that was the day that Lonnie Cooper made her his wife. Lonnie wants you to know you were his “Sweet Pea” and he will forever love you and miss you. He said to let you know he will be buying a gold chain so that he can where your wedding rings next his heart.

Those that knew her certainly understood she was one of the most charismatic persons they had ever met. She lived life on her terms. She was proudest of her children and grandchildren. Her spirit was always wrapped in the joys of life she loved her NAILS, music, cooking, bowling, playing cards and watching “Wheel of Fortune & Texas Walker.”

Gloria was preceded in death by parents, John Saunders, Mary Ellison (Ewell), her brother Robert Ellison. Gloria’s most precious memories will be cherished by her siblings, Jeffery Ellison of Grand Rapids, MI; Mary J. Ellison-Scott-Cross (Cleophas Cross) of Grand Rapids, MI; and Martha “Champagne” Ellison of Bay Point, CA; host of nieces and nephews. Her children, Scottie Ellison; Colett (Obie) Taylor; Charneal (Eddie) Merrell; William Cole Jr. Her Grand Children: Porchea and Parriss King; MarShawn Cole; Tina White; Oasya Taylor; Obie Taylor, Jr., Ovyonne Taylor, Otreyvien Taylor, Oriel Taylor, Charneal Merrell, Eddie Merrell, Sr.; great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and greats; her loving companion, Lonnie Cooper; life friend William Earl Cole, Sr., best friend Lottie Bush and Carrie Lewis; and her New Hope Church Family.

Special Thanks to our Family, Friends, and Loved Ones who Celebrated this Memorial Services. To the Medical Team at Toledo Hospital, Dr. Finney and Medical Community, who contributed to giving her the ability to transition with Dignity…your efforts have not gone unnoticed.
