Mrs. Geraldine McGhee Shoemaker, known as "Gerry", was born July 25, 1959 to Mr. and Mrs. John McGhee. Gerry departed this life February 25, 2020. She attended Woodward High School. Gerry loved to paint, draw and make art sculptures. She also worked at Toledo Hospital as a Nurse Aid.
Geraldine loved her family and friends. She loved to cook and to travel. She had a passion to teach children in her classroom. Geraldine loved and cherished her two children.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia McGhee; her brothers, Robert Taylor and Johnnie Taylor; brother-in-law, Roger Gordon; and sister-in-law, Diane Purifie.
Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gary Shoemaker; children, Gary Jr. and Gaquila; sisters, Gloria-Louise, Linda, Wanda; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn, Crystal, Angela (Derrick) Gordon, Paula, Edna, Theresa, Denise, Kim, Kimberly; brother-in-law, Daniel Keith; nieces, Vivian Taylor, Alexis Carruthers; nephew, Tyson Carruthers; best friend, Joyce; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
