Gary Allen Williams, 70, departed this life on March 21, 2020, peacefully. Gary was born in Norfolk, VA to the union of Anthony and Jessie Mae Williams.
Gary moved to Syracuse in the early 1970's. He moved his family to Toledo, Ohio in 1995.
Gary retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He loved to travel and eat at the finest restaurants.
He was ordained as a deacon in the mid 70's, under the leadership of the late Rev. Thornton J. Jones of New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C. in Syracuse, NY. He later became the Head Deacon and Head Trustee at the Evangelical C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Elder Ernest J. Matthews.
Gary was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Dehart, and sister, Yvonne. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Jannie; his children, Dr. April M. Williams of Katy, Texas, Dehart (Sandra) Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Wanda (Rev. Thomas) Bell of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chynna Houston, Bria Johnson, Brianna Johnson, and Nyla Bell, with whom he shared a special bond; four siblings, Thomas Williams of Chicago, IL, Leon (Josephine) Williams of Syracuse, NY, Ellery (Yvonne) Williams of Virginia Beach, VA, and Veronica Williams-Ballard of Norfolk, VA; special friends, Deacon Robert Sullivan and Deacon James Beach, and a host of nieces and nephews.
