Obituary for Fred Quinn

Fred Quinn, age 92, of Toledo, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was born on December 18, 1928, to Willie and Irene Quinn in Hayti, Missouri.

Fred confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and upon moving to Toledo, he remained faithful and attended various churches as he moved north to Flint, Michigan. He stayed in the Word of the Lord for the rest of his life.

Fred's careers included factory work at Buick, Jeep and other factories until he found his passion for fixing cars. In 1960, he went into business for himself as an auto mechanic. During the next 50-plus years, he had various locations for Fred's Auto Shop. He was happy fixing cars until his eyesight started to faile, and he had to retire from business.

Fred was married to Inez Quinn for 56 years before their divorce. He is the father of six children.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, John Quinn, Florean Johnson, and Anna Jones; his children, Steve Snow, William Quinn, Marcia Williams, and Vanessa Akpan; as well as one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Fred leaves to cherish his memory: Son, Fred Jr. (Diana); daughter, Patsy Bolden; and daughter-in-law, Cassandra Quinn; two dedicated nieces, Gwendolyn Hunt and Anna (Louis) Branch; god-daughter, Ramona Pole; special friends, Barbara Murphy and Jim Murphy; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
