Obituary for Donald Eric Gilmer

Donald Eric Gilmer (Sloppy) was born in Toledo Ohio on January 8, 1966 to Phyllis Gilmer and Donald Braswell. He is preceded in death by Mattie and Lawrence Gilmer, Mildred Braswell, and a host of brothers, uncles and aunts.

Donald attended Job Corps at the age of 17. He later obtained employment at JEEP. He retired in 2017 after 30 years of employment.

He had a love for playing basketball, fishing, cars, and real-estate. He was truly a jack of all trades. He loved his girls. He was known to crack jokes. Donald was easy going, well loved, with a kind and genuine spirit. He would help others at the drop of a dime.

Donald leaves to cherish his mother Phyllis, his father Donald, Cecilia who held a special place in his heart. Seven daughters: Chanelle, Erica, Shaunte, LaToya, Nichole, Cristina, and DonaShia. Fourteen grandchildren; Danishia, Aaron, Erainishia, Micah, Taylor, Errik, Terressa, Damajea, Alicia, Dominique, Michelle, Nicholas, Paityn, and Gianna. Four sisters; Latonya, Deborah, Tina, and Brittany. Seven brothers; William, Marcus, Vincent, Jamar, Darius, Ronnie, and Dion and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
