Obituary for Denise Strahan

On Sunday, November 15, 2020, the angels came and quietly escorted Denise “Niecy” Strahan to her Heavenly Home. Niecy was born to Henry and Mary Strahan on September 3, 1956 at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
Niecy loved the Lord and accepted Him as her personal Savior. She attended Scott High School and later received her G.E.D. on November 13, 1997.

Niecy's first job was at Smith’s Confectionery which was owned by her uncle and aunt. She worked at McDonalds for several years. Later she earned her Child Care Certificate from Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and began caring for her grandchildren and other babies born into the family.
Niecy had a quiet spirit and an affectionate smile, from a child she had a shyness about her. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and she would be the life of the party. Niecy was the person you would call on to cook your favorite dish.

Niecy was preceded in death by her fathers, Henry Strahan, Sr. and Homer Williams, Jr. “Daddy”; two grandchildren, Travis Morehead, Jr. and Z’ Mariah Strahan; sister, Janice Strahan; brother, Henry Strahan II “Butch” and a special uncle, Willie Smith.

She is lovingly survived by her mother, Mary Williams; daughters, Kaswaula “KK” Strahan and Dawayna Strahan; sons, Andreas “Peter” Strahan and Travis Morehead; grandchildren: Andrea Strahan, KaLand Grier, Kaliyah Carter, Shyla Strahan, LaRiyah Strahan, Dearius Carter, Kaydan Grier, Tranette Morehead; bonus grandchildren, Carl and Cazia Allison; siblings: Jewel Strahan, Shirlyn Strahan, Rozalyn (William) Wilson, Justina Williams and Charles (Sharonda) Stimmage; bonus siblings: Gary, Shirley, Sheila, Indiola, Anna Jean, Homer III, Victor and Denise Williams and Carol Ensley; special niece, Demetries Strahan; special aunt, Willie Mae Smith “Mae Mae”; Godsisters: Leslye Colbert-Jones “Bunny”, Deborah Stewart “Debbie” and Camille (Mark) Lockett; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
