Throughout the years, he developed a love of the arts through drawing and sketching which became a lifelong journey for him. He received his GED in 1992 and Associate Arts Degree from Wilmington College in 1995. He was happiest when he was creating drawings of famous people, family, and friends. He loved every moment that he was able to stand before an easel to draw, sketch, and create, always ready to teach and tutor about the visual arts along with attending art fairs and events. His work is celebrated in the homes of family, friends, and patrons, including U.S. Civil Rights leader and activist, Kwame Ture (formerly Stokely Carmichael).
David was the life of the party and a wonderful dancer. Along with deejaying, he loved to display his moves at family gatherings. The time he spent with his children, grandchildren, family, nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family were his most precious moments.

David held many jobs in the Toledo area before he became ill. He worked at the Docks and with his uncle Bobby in his catering business, ‘Mr. Bob’s Que’, at catering events held throughout the city of Toledo and neighboring communities.
David loved sports and was an avid sports enthusiast. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Michigan Wolverines.
