Obituary

Curtis E. Hicks was born July 25, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio to Jesse and Dorothy Hicks. He passed away at the Devine Rehabilitation Center on July 18, 2020.

Curtis worked for numerous factories in Toledo, Ohio and Columbus, Indiana - where he moved to Indiana and resided there for 10 years. Later, he moved back to his birth place, Toledo, Ohio.

He devoted his life to the Lord and Savior at an early age and continued to be a son of God up until his homecoming.

Curtis was an accomplished musician. His favorite instrument was his harmonicas, which he was the best at playing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Dorothy Hicks; brother, Jesse Jr.; and special grandson, Bryan Watson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Virgie; brother-in-law, Edmond Hillard AKA Rody; children, special son and daughter, Brian (Christine) and Trovonda; sisters, Alma, Susan, Gloria (Rex), Etta, Juanita (Tim), Monica, Connie; brothers, Tyrone and Robert; step-mother, Cheryl Hicks; special cousin, Mark Hicks (Julie); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Sorry for our loss. I have fond memories of Curtis (Eugene) as we called him the most not only through his renditions from his harmonica but his vocals as well. He will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to the family. Love you all!!!
