Obituary for Constance Louise Coleman

Constance "Conni" Louise Woods was born on February 6, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to the parents of Wilson Woods and Mary Jordan. Being a single mother Mary had the assistance of her mother Mamie Vaughter and her sister Johnnie Jordan in raising Conni. As a young child Conni attended Washington Elementary School followed by Robinson Jr. High School. She graduated from Scott High School in Toledo,OH and received an associates degree in Social Science from Lourdes University.

In 1968 Conni began working for the State of Michigan at The Adrian Training School where she remained until she retired in 1997. In the early years of her retirement she worked for Washington Local Schools and taught dyslexic children how to read and write at the Masonic Auditorium.

In 2012 Conni suffered a heart attack and a stroke and discontinued her teaching. Conni was a faithful member of Mt. Pilgrim church under the direction of Pastor Raymond Bishop.

She was preceded in death by bother parents, and a sister, Margaret.

Conni leaves to mourn her passing her four children, Kimberlie Coleman, Cheryl Watson, Genene Garrett and Jonathan (Kyana) Coleman; five grandchilren, Ryan (Olivia) Coleman, Geordan (Jordan) Coleman, Taelor Garrett, Airman Quortni Watkins, and Dorian Lofton; great granddaughters, Peyton and Nova and great grandson, Grayson; Tyler and Gavin Trammell were cared for greatly.
