Obituary for Cletus Phoenix

Cletus D. Phoenix was born August 29, 1937 to Starley B. Phoenix and Deolda Bray in Findlay, OH. He passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

He entered holy matrimony with Julia C. Williams in 1959. To this union three children were born, Renee, Phenon and Cletus.

Cletus attended and graduated from Woodward High School. He worked as a realtor for Century 21 and Gray Realty. His true passion was singing and over the span of several decades performed with multiple singing groups. In 1958 he released two songs on Hugh Q Records. He was an avid bowler for most of his life and he participated in various bowling leagues around the city. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Cletus is preceded in death by his mother, Denolda Gardner; father, Starley B. phoenix; sisters, Claudette Johnson, Paulette Collier and Karen Rogers; brothers, Charles Phoenix and John Gardner.

Cletus leaves to cherish his memory of his loving and devoted children, Renee (Nelson) Overton, Phenon (Robert) Bumpus and Cletus (Metra) Phoenix; grandchildren, Natasha Overton, Ashley Roberts, Nelson (Desiree) Overton, and Taylor Carter; great-grandchild, Brylee Luton;, god-son, Nick (Linda) Bohner; sisters, Linda (Harold) Hassell and Denise Dubois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
