Birdie Mae Thomas was born on November 27,1934, to the union of Ed Coachman and Bertha Mae Coachman in Cairo, Illinois. She moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1950 with her family while still a young child.

Birdie accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at a young age and was baptized at The Family Baptist Church by Pastor Charles H. McBee, Senior Pastor. Birdie worked numerous jobs to provide for her family. Her beautiful personality could light up a room. Everyone loved her presence and she will forever be remembered by her honesty, love, and graceful character.

Birdie Thomas departed life suddenly on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, a total of 11 siblings, late husband Daniel Thomas, son Collois Coachman, grandson Carlos Coachman, and three great granddaughters.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Karen Coachman, Nathaniel Coachman, and Jacqueline Coachman all of Toledo, OH; grandchildren; great grandchildren; life long friend of the R&A Cab Company, Mr. Roberts; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing services will be held on Saturday February 13, 2021 from 6pm-7pm at House of Day Funeral Services in Toledo, OH.
