Obituary for Bernadine Anderson

Bernadine Anderson passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Tolleson, AZ, at the age of 83. She was born March 27, 1937 and reared in Toledo, Ohio by loving parents, Samuel and Pearl Hunt. Bernadine attended Toledo Public Schools, graduating from Libbey High School in 1955. She majored in business during her high school years and was immediately hired as a secretary for Rossford Ordinance.

She married Curtis Anderson Sr. in 1959 and from that union they parented six children. Bernadine was a stay at home mom until all of her children were in school. Then she resumed her business career and was hired as a secretary for Toledo Public Schools where she served thirty years before retiring.

Bernadine was baptized at an early age and she loved to listen to gospel music. her favorite pas-times were playing bingo and keeping up with current events in the newspaper. But most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family - especially her grandchildren who she supported in their numerous school programs and extra curricular activities.

When her health began to fail, she moved to Arizona with her daughter, Synthia, who lovingly took care of her until her passing.

Bernadine's parents, husband, brother, Gordon Hunt Sr., and special cousin Marcia Gregory, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children, Cheri Johnson, Serena Anderson, Synthia (Kenneth) Byrd, Curtis Anderson Jr., Brenda Anderson, and Cletus Anderson; grandchildren, Chalise (Sean) Kidd, Chanelle Johnson, Charles (Mary) Johnson, Frank (Keisha) Rayford, Christopher Rayford, Latreece O'Neil, Natora (Darnell) Richardson, Capreese Nyandja, Makala (Jermane) Johnson, and Amonte' Anderson; sisters, Barbara Hunt and Beverly Beasley; niece, Rita Hunt; nephews, Gordon Hunt Jr. and Archie Beasley Jr.; special cousins, Ronald Burgess and Richard Garner.
