Barbara Ann Parks, affectionately knowns as "Bobbie", was peacefully called home after a long illness, on October 19, 2020. She was born June 28, 1938 in Lewisburg, Tennessee to Ethel and John McNeal.
The family relocated to Evansville, Indiana in 1943, then to Toledo, Ohio in 1950. Barbara was a graduate of Libbey High School in 1956.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edgar C. Parks. She was the mother of Ronald and Kelly Parks.
Her first employment was with the Toledo Hospital. She was also employed by Max Davis Jewelers, the later employed by Toledo Headstart Programs, where she retired. After retirement she served part-time in the Seniors Nutrition Program, until her illness.
Barbara was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church. Barbara served as an usher and treasurer of the Usher Board. She also served on the Pastor's Aide Committee.
Barbara enjoyed travelling and was an avid reader. She loved entertaining and hosting many family traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Parks; mother and father; John and Ethel McNeal; sister, Johnnie Mae Pender; and brother, Thomas McNeal Sr.
She will forever be remembered by her husband of 62 years, Edgar C. Parks; daughter, Kelly Parks, of Toledo; sister, Martha McFollins, of Columbus, Ohio; brother, James McNeal, of Toledo; granddaughter, Rolanda McNeal Scott, of Toledo; grandson, Rashad McNeal; great granddaughters and great grandsons, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
