Obituary for Arlinar Smith

Arlinar Smith, AKA “Pookie” and “Snooks”, was born in Toledo, Ohio to the union of Mae and Tom Smith Sr. on October 31st, 1954. Arlinar was 65 years of age when she was called home peacefully in her sleep at home. She departed this life on February 19th, 2020, after a long battle with Leukemia which she fought bravely and heroically.
She attended Scott High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and she like helping people clean their homes and helping family and friends in any way she could. She was a member of the “Marvin Gaye weekend ladies” event that was conducted annually with her loving sisters and she was also a member of the “Hamp’s Alleycat” and “Girls Nite Out” group. She was the life of the party, always with a smile and infectious laugh and feisty personality. Her favorite thing to say when ending a phone conversation with her love ones was “Love You More”

Arlinar was preceded in death by her (father) Tom Smith Sr. (mother) Mae F Smith, (Sister) Sandra Smith and 1 brother, and her loving grandparents, niece (Erica Oliver) and (daughter) Artisha Smith.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, (brother) Tom Smith Jr. (Sisters) Gloria Jean Johnson, Alfrieda Oliver of Toledo, Ohio, Jerine Lawler of Cleveland Ohio, Iris J. Smith of Toledo, Ohio and Queen Victoria Smith of Atlanta Georgia.

She also leaves to cherish Her children Arrin Smith, Artesha Smith, Adrian Smith, Armond Smith, and Arkia Blackman all of Toledo, Ohio. She also leaves to cherish in her memory 7 grandchildren and her great aunt Lois Cathey, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Special thank you to Cleveland Clinic and St. Vincent Hospital for the loving care of our loved one Arlinar Smith during her battle with Leukemia.
