Obituary for Alice Mays

Alice Mays of Toledo, OH was born in Covington, GA, Feb. 17, 1938. She was a UAW Local 12 retiree from Chrysler Jeep Corporation, after 25 years of service. Our Mother Mays loved the Lord and she was a mother to all who knew her. Her church home was Rock of Praise Church. She was a very active member and she was also a Mother of the church. She loved doing puzzles, and would stay up late just to complete one of her 1000 piece puzzles. She also had a strong passion for giving back to the community. Every summer she would donate school supplies to different schools for the kids. She always had a warm place in her heart for the children. When winter arrived she would pull out her sewing machine and start making gloves, hats and scarfs to give to anyone in need. Baking and cooking came natural for her coming from the south (Covington, GA). The pound cake she would make was everyone's favorite. To know her was to just simply love and adore her. She had a couple of famous quotes that were: "You got that right" and her favorite line was "that's about the size of it". Rest in Heaven Mother Mays! We love and miss you, all of your children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mays and daughter, Pamela Gibbs. She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Dwight Petty, Michael Smith, Kenneth Smith, Keith Smith, and Carl Smith; daughters, Sherry Watson and Sharon Gregory; brother, Marshall Kimbro, and a host of grand and great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their warm hearts and prayers, and all of your condolences.
