Obituary for Acquanetta Gregory

Acquanetta (Cornett) Gregory, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Acquanetta was born July 27, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Wade and Ellena (Luster) Cornett.

Acquanetta graduated from Jesup W. Scott High class of 1967. She graduated from The University of Toledo with an A. A. S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Business Administration from Lourdes College. She worked as an Account Executive for Toledo Edison and Key Bank for many years. Acquanetta was a longstanding member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church since 1959, serving on the Usher Board and the Finance Committee. She was a very caring and lovable person. Her smile would light up a room. She loved shopping, traveling, cruising, and going to the casino. She also liked hanging with her girls, Kim, Toya, Jennifer, Donnette, and Tisha at the Parade of Homes every year. Once she mastered FaceTime she enjoyed calls from CJ, Adrian Jr., Davon, and Kylie.

Acquanetta was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Gregory and her brother, James "Jimmy Squirt" Cornett. She leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Turner, Sr.; son, Adrian Gregory, Sr.; one aunt, Mildred Hale; one uncle, William (Marcia) Cornett; sisters, Cassandra (Lee) Byers of Houston, TX, Elaine (Arthur) Thomas Sr., Mint Hill, NC and Kathi Cornett of Toledo, OH; granddaughters, LaToya (Prince) Flores and Marceya Marr; grandsons, Charles "CJ" Turner, Jr., Adrian Gregory, Jr., Davon Gregory, Sr., and other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kylie Flores and Davon Gregory, Jr.; Octavia McCloud, cousin (caretaker) and will be fondly remembered by extended family and dear friends.
