Obituary for Aaron L. Presberry

Aaron L. Presberry age 68, passed away from this life to be with the Lord Saturday April 4, 2020. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 10, 1952 to Andrew and Ophelia Presberry.

Aaron accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the age of 9 years old. He grew up in the Church of the Living God C.W.F.F., pastored by his grandfather and then his father.

Aaron attended Lincoln Elementary School, Robinson Junior High, and graduated from San Diego High when he and his family lived in California. He also received an Associate Degree of Biblical Studies in Toledo, Ohio from McKinstry Midwest College of Theology in June 2016.

In his early years he worked for Toledo Edison. In October of 1986 Aaron began a career with the state of Ohio at Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital as a Therapeutic Program Worker. In January of 2000 he went into corrections at the Toledo Correctional Institution where he later became a Lieutenant. He retired from Toledo Corrections and went to work part time at Costco August 2007 – July 2009. In July 2009 Aaron returned to the State of Ohio at NOPH to work until he retired again in July 2019.

Aaron loved sports. He played football for San Diego High. He was an Ohio State fan and He loved the Oakland Raiders now known as the Las Angeles Raiders. He also liked to fish and golf. In his younger years he did photography, videography and was a DJ. He liked cooking, baking and he loved firing up the bar-b-que grill for his family.

Aaron was happiest spending time and traveling with his wife Wanda and daughters Alexandrea (the apple of his eye) and Casey. He especially liked to attend his grandkid’s basketball games. He was always a hard working family man. He was faithful, he was a man of his word and a man of integrity. He was genuinely happy, loving and had a smile as big as the sun. He was a strong towering force that covered his wife, family and household and yet he was gentle and kind. He was always laughing and poking fun at someone because he got a kick out seeing others smile and laugh. Aaron had a loving spirit that ministered to others everywhere he went. Aaron along with his wife Wanda and daughter Casey joined GHDT Worship Center (Toledo, OH) under Bishop Pat McKinstry on Sunday September 25, 2012. He was an Elder in the church and a faithful minister. He absolutely loved his Bishop, Overseer Luther McKinstry, and his church family. He was a member of the Hospital Ministry and was over the men’s ministry (“Mighty Men of Valor”) at the Worship Center. His favorite scripture was Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Andrew and Ophelia Presberry, his sister Andrea K. Davidson and his son Winston ShaRo’n Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Wanda Presberry; daughter, Alexandrea Presberry (the apple of his eye); bonus daughter, Casey Ingram; grandchildren, Ahmarianna and Antione West; Sisters Lana (Dennis) Bell; Dorthea (Charles) Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
